The End.

It's been an exciting few weeks for the cattle out on Broad Street. They witnessed crazed baseball fans take to the streets and riot the night the Phillies won the pennant, and they saw millions of people show up a few days later for a ticker tape parade. Last Tuesday, they watched Philadelphians pour into the street, celebrating the election of Barack Obama as the next President, his acceptance speech playing on the other side of their window. They have also bore witness to both the sunny and rainy, but mostly cool, days of October 2008, and I am sorry to say that their time in the Window on Broad Street has come to an end.

For the full story, start at the bottom of this page and scroll up to see the progression of the cows' demise.

Stay tuned for an artist's book, The Patty Melt, to be released before Christmas, 2008.

Now if only I could find someone to make me a whole mess of chocolate cheeseburgers...

The Next Morning

The First Night

Prelude

The Patty Melt is an experiment in climate change. These 12 cows, cast in chocolate, will be subjected to a daily dosage of sun every afternoon, heating up the small window space. Will they withstand the rise and fall in temperature? Will they melt? Find out how the cattle react with daily postings to THE PATTY MELT.
